Getting Licensed

WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING NEW AFF STUDENTS AT THIS TIME. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST.

So, you want to be one of us? After your first tandem jump at Dallas Skydive Center you can enroll in our Accelerated Free Fall Program (AFP) to become a licensed skydiver. With just 25 jumps, you can skydive anywhere in the world.

WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING NEW AFF STUDENTS AT THIS TIME. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST.

Dallas Skydive Center is a USPA member dropzone, and we teach our students based on the AFF method, which is outlined here.

The first level begins after a 6 hour course covering all you will need to know to make your first AFF jump. During the jump you will be instructed by two USPA licensed AFF Instructors that are trained to hold on to you for the free fall portion of the jump, helping you maintain stability and coaching you through the requirements needed to complete level 1.

You will be pulling your own parachute at every level (if your instructor must pull it, you must repeat the level), and flying the canopy back the the drop zone with the aid of a two way radio.

Our student and tandem parachute systems are built by the same manufacturer (UPT) who builds the U.S. Military’s parachute equipment. UPT is considered by the industry to be the gold standard, and all are equipped with automatic activation devices (AADs). This device is designed to open your reserve canopy container autonomously at a set altitude

After graduation your USPA license will be recognized at every dropzone in the tight knit community that spans the globe.
